We would most likely use Oregano through distillation or extraction. But it is very risky, according to our lab assistant.How can you extract oil from leaves? Please, I need it for my project in chemistry.?
steam distillation is used to extract essential oils - i.e. carvone.
(I don't know what the oils in oregano are so I can't be sure this would work)
It is a pretty safe procedure. I'm surprised your lab assistant would consider extraction or distillation risky??
